The Great Ocean Road – 2 Day Tour

Day 1 – The Great Ocean Road – Overnight Apollo Bay

Victoria’s Great Ocean Road is an amazing experience at any time of the year. One of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, the Great Ocean Road stretches 243 km along the southern coast of Victoria.

Travel it and you will discover some of the world’s most inspiring scenery, an ever-changing hinterland and charming towns and hamlets. Marvel at the huge cliffs, roaring seas, tranquil coves, magnificent waterfalls and secluded beaches.

Get an insight into Australian surfing culture at Bells Beach, with rugged cliffs and big waves. Discover seaside villages such as the popular town of Lorne, where you can stroll on the stunning beach. As we continue our 2 day tour, you may see koalas in the wild at Kennett River.

Explore the magnificent rainforest of Mait’s Rest and enjoy a trip up the Cape Otway Light station. Soak up the Cape’s natural beauty from the oldest surviving lighthouse in mainland Australia. Experience the heart-pounding thrill of the view from the balcony 90 metres above the surging waters of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean.  Learn about Aboriginal culture and tour the historic Telegraph Station from 1859.

Day 2 – Apollo Bay to Twelve Apostles to Melbourne

A stroll through the Melba Gully (or the “jewel of the Otway’s”) will awaken your senses. This area of rainforest is one of the wettest in Victoria and will expose you to flora and fauna that you never knew existed.

You’ll be awe struck by the sheer cliffs dropping into the ocean at Gibson’s Steps. Make your way down to the beach below.  Visit the world-renowned Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge and take in the rugged, spectacular limestone coastline. This is all must do on Great Ocean Road and you can see it thanks to this 2-day tour.

Take an unforgettable journey at Tower Hill Reserve. The reserve (nestled in the crater of a dormant volcano) is a haven for wildlife and an fascinating ecological site. It provides an enthralling insight into the indigenous Australians that lived in the area 30,000 years ago. Tower Hill also offers a unique wildlife experience –an abundance of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and emus roam wild.
